Product Details

Since its release in 2013, the GripStop has gone through a series of improvements and design changes based off user feedback. True North Concepts has taken the opportunity to fine tune these changes for the re-release of our Picatinny rail mounted variant. Although the firearms industry has moved away from the 1913 Picatinny mounting interface, it still remains the standard throughout the U.S. Military and most allied nations. The majority of issued weapons are already bulky and heavy, and TNC set out to reduce the weight of the GripStop while improving performance. The result is the lightest, strongest Picatinny variant ever built. This new GripStop weights just 1.7 ounces and is built from 6061-T6 aluminum for maximum durability. It is currently available in both Earth Brown and Black Milspec Type 3 Hardcoat anodized finishes. All hardware is built from tool grade steel and is black Nitrided finished for maximum corrosion resistance. After years of feedback from the field the design now features a specialty flat-head, flush fit mounting screw, allowing any common screwdriver or multitool to be used for mounting and maintenance. The Picatinny rail GripStop carries the same lifetime “No questions asked” replacement warranty as the rest of the GripStop family and is built with military application at the forefront of its design.

Note: Because anodizing color & shade varies from batch to batch, it is impossible to color match to other manufacturers accessories.

About

The original GripStop was first released in 2013 after years of research and design. Created by a Marine combat veteran, the GripStop will benefit a wide variety of different shooting styles and firearm types. Built from rugged 6061 T6 aluminum and MilSpec anodized, the GripStop is smaller than a vertical grip, but larger than a hand stop. Lightweight and streamlined, the GripStop was the first product to properly address correct shooter ergonomics. The unique serrated front radius allows the shooter to “pull” the firearm rearward into the shoulder pocket and maintain a solid purchase on the gun with the support hand. This feature also works great as a barrier-stop against walls, rock, automotive frames, and barricades. The GripStop has been combat-proven by American Special Operations Forces and Marines in multiple combat theaters and will survive the toughest abuse. This product holds a lifetime, “no questions asked” free replacement guarantee.

Description

The True North Concepts GripStop Picatinny is a Picatinny handstop built for shooters who want a fixed point of reference on the forend of a rifle. It gives the support hand a hard stop that keeps the grip from creeping toward a hot barrel and returns the hand to the same spot every time the gun comes up. Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished in Type III hard coat anodize, it weighs 1.7 ounces and mounts to any MIL-STD Picatinny rail. Sized between a hand stop and a vertical grip, it delivers a secure grip without eating the rail space a full foregrip demands.

The GripStop has been in production since 2013, and this Picatinny variant was rebuilt around feedback from service members running 1913 rail forearms on issued small arms. The ergonomic design seats the index and middle fingers against a contoured face so the hand locks in under recoil instead of sliding forward.

Installation uses a flat-head, flush-fit mounting screw, so a common screwdriver or multitool does the job and no Allen wrench is needed at the armory or in the field. The low-profile body keeps the accessory tight to the rail, which matters on shorter handguards where every slot is spoken for. A squared rear face doubles as a barricade stop, giving you a barricade rest to load against when you brace on cover. Hardware is tool-grade steel finished in black nitride to hold up against corrosion through hard use.

Because weapons manipulation under stress depends on repeating the same motion the same way, a fixed finger stop removes one variable from the equation. The GripStop Picatinny comes in Black and Earth Brown and carries the same lifetime, no questions asked replacement warranty as the rest of the GripStop family.
