With this newest re-release of our Picatinny-mounted variant, True North Concepts has taken every lesson learned over more than a decade and applied it to create the most advanced version yet.

Although much of the commercial firearms industry has shifted away from the 1913 Picatinny interface, it remains the universal standard across the U.S. Military and nearly all allied nations. Issued weapon systems are already heavy and equipment-laden, so reducing weight without sacrificing durability or performance became the primary design goal. The result is the lightest and strongest Picatinny GripStop ever produced, weighing in at just 1.7 ounces while maintaining battle-proven strength.

Precision-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, the new GripStop offers exceptional rigidity with minimal weight. It is available in Earth Brown and Black Type III Mil-Spec Hardcoat Anodize, ensuring a durable, non-reflective finish built for real field use. All included hardware is tool-grade steel with a black Nitride finish for long-term corrosion resistance in harsh environments. Responding directly to user requests, we also incorporated a specialty flat-head, flush-fit mounting screw, allowing effortless installation and maintenance with any standard screwdriver or multitool—no proprietary tools required.
